We are hiring a Staff Nurse – Dermatology & Tissue Viability (Support role)  for a hospital located in Tralee, Ireland.


  • Job Type: Specified Purpose, Part-Time
  • Hours: 11 hours per week + Annual Leave Cover

  •  Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with dermatological conditions and complex wounds.
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
    • Support the prevention, assessment, and management of pressure injuries, chronic wounds, and tissue viability concerns.
    • Assist with dermatology procedures, wound dressings, skin assessments, and patient education.
    • Monitor patients' progress, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and report changes in condition promptly.
    • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with NMBI guidelines and hospital policies.
    • Educate and support patients, families, and staff on skin care, wound management, and pressure ulcer prevention.
    • Maintain infection prevention and control standards and promote patient safety at all times.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing professional development.
    • Collaborate effectively with consultants, nursing colleagues, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


    Requirements

    • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
    • Minimum 2 years of post-registration acute care nursing experience.
    • Interest or experience in Tissue Viability and/or Dermatology is desirable.
    • Postgraduate qualification in Tissue Viability and/or Dermatology is desirable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good IT and clinical documentation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
